New Work - Poison Attack

Here is some new work I've done. I'm trying to start a new plan to improve my speed. My goal is to create one effect each day (unless I am busy with other things). Here is day 1. It is a poison attack that might be seen in an action game or an rpg. It has three stages as seen in the pictures. Stage one is the initial strike. Stage two is the cracking in the ground. And the last stage is burning til it fades away.

Explosion Update

I'm back. Went out of town for a bit so I couldn't do much til I returned. Here is the almost finished explosion. I took the renders from Maya to After Effects to lay them out in a sprite sheet layout. Then I brought them into UDK to create the explosion. The last major thing left is to make the explosion produce light.

It's Been A Long Time and Updates

Hey! It's been a while. I have been working on a project called Heavy Gear Assault with a team which is why I haven't posted anything lately. But I'm here now to give an update. If you want to know more about Heavy Gear Assault, google it and look at the website. I can't really give out too much information on it but you can find plenty on the Heavy Gear website.

In other news, I've been doing work with Maya fluids a lot lately. Here is a little sample of what I've been working on.

It's Been A Little While

I've been busy with other things these past few weeks. There was the holidays and I was out of town for about 10 days afterwards. This is another update on the Sci-Fi Hallway. I think I'm going to call this one finished soon. I finished modeling the roof. I also have the normal map on. I'm going to touch up the texture later as well as it's missing a proper spec map. I've also worked on the window material so now the scratches show better but in doing so, I have lost the reflection so I will get to that soon, too.

Sci-Fi Hallway Update 6

Here is more progress on the hallway. The lighting is getting very close to the look I am trying to achieve. I have also added the end of the hall and turned it into a corner. The clouds on the planet have been updated and the skybox is in. Currently, I'm working on reflections (which can be seen in the shots below) and the glass in the windows.

Sci-Fi Hallway Update 5

Another hallway update. I'm still working on the lighting. Right now it is too extreme on the red. My plan is to have the red planet lighting the hallway just slightly while the lighting in the hall still remains mainly blue from the lights on the floor. I've also got a good start on the planet. Still working on the clouds and the outer lighting but I like the way it is looking so far.
